He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Whitaker; his granddaughter Savanna Raane; and his parents, Lelah Whitaker and Walter Whitaker. He is survived by: his children, Michael Whitaker, Julie Whitaker Wilmoth, Lisa Milhoan (Jermie) and Crystal Fox (Douglas); his grandchildren, Stacy (Shane), Tracy (Joshua), Kris, Sammy, Kacie, Tara, Douglas Jr. and James; and his brother Jerry Whitaker (Gayle). He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
