She was predeceased by: her parents, Grier Franklin and Cora Mae Dixon Sipes; her husband Reverend John Jacob Thornburg; and her sister Thelma Hallman. She is survived by: her children, John David Thornburg of Yadkinville, NC and Mary Francene Taylor (Mickey Groce) of Mocksville, NC; her siblings, Sue Wilson of Kings Mountain, NC, Norma Atkinson of Clover, SC, Bill Sipes (Brenda) of Kings Mountain, NC and Ed Sipes (Sally) of Rural Hall, NC.; her grandchildren, Anthony Thornburg, James Taylor (Leslie) and Traci Harris (Brad); her great grandchildren, Breanna Thornburg, Marshall Taylor, Ashlyn Taylor, Jacob Ledbetter, Lucas Ledbetter and Axl Harris; and her great great grandchildren, Stetson Bryant and Macy Bryant.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM at the Harris Funeral Home (108 S Piedmont Ave, Kings Mountain, NC 28086). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel (106 S Piedmont Ave, Kings Mountain, NC 28086).
