He was predeceased by: his father John Henry Wagoner; his wife Mary Bell Roberts Wagoner; and his brother Phillip Wagoner. He is survived by: his children, Grayland Wagoner (Kathy), Billy Wagoner (Marlene) and Libby Harrison (Preston); his granddaughters, Kara Furr (Lewis), April Hembree (Andy) and Kaitlyn Wagoner; his great grandchildren, Brooklynn Hembree, Charlotte Hembree, Hadley Furr and Harper Furr; and his siblings, Lois Vestal, Martha Macemore (Richard), Jack Wagoner (Joann) and Frank Wagoner (Carolene).
