He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Steelman McEwen and Mary Lena Trivette McEwen; his wife Mary Arvesta Smith McEwen; his grandson Jesse Wayne "Bubba" McEwen; his daughter-in-law Lynn McEwen; and his siblings, Shirley Renegar, Mattie Renegar and Russell McEwen.
He is survived by: his children, Jesse McEwen and Teresa Apperson (Troy); his grandchildren, James "Shorty" McEwen (Heather), Nicole Eldred (Jeffery), Aubrey Apperson and MaeLena Apperson; and his siblings, Mary Faye McEwen Hobson, J. C. McEwen and Price McEwen. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
