He was predeceased by: his sister Josephine Gibbons. He is survived by: his wife Melba Holden Mullis; his siblings, Betty Binkley, Gilbert Mullis (Anita) of Advance and Bobby Garner (Daphne) of Germanton; his children, Deborah Oikemus of Matthews, Vickie Snead (Steve) of Walkertown, Michael Mullis (Cindy) of Elkin and Scott Mullis (Beth) of Yadkinville; his grandchildren, Caitlin Oikemus, Cody Oikemus, Rebecca Snead, Sarah Mullis, Brandon Mullis and Ryan Mullis; and also, Ireland, Greece, Holland, Norway and Egypt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice.
