He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Cox and Cornelia Cockman Cox; his son Bengy Gilmer Cox; his son-in-law Tim Lineberry; and his siblings, Leta Smith, Ardith Walker, Geneva Brady, Anderson, Hilton and Eugene Cox.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Brown Cox; his daughter Tina Lineberry; his daughter-in-law Rainy Cox; his grandchildren, Lauren Stroud (Jason) and James Lineberry (Lacy); and his great grandchildren, Livia, Faith, Logan, Gwynn, Theia, Blair Stroud, Micah and Jace Lineberry.
