He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Lee and Lois Johnson Carpenter; his parents-in-law, Allen and Mary Moxley; and his brother-in-law Jerry Moxley.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Moxley Carpenter; his sister Vena Jester; his sister-in-law Jane Moxley (Roger Oliver); his nieces, Pam Moncus (Pete), Angela Jester, Ann Marie Moxley and Mary Moxley Sale; his great-nieces, Emily Williams (Seth), Josie Shaffer, Anna Claire Sale, Adlea Rose Sale and Dawson Shaffer; and also, Aylabelle Williams and Abigail Williams.
The family requests that everyone in attendance wear a mask and practice social distancing.
