She was predeceased by: her father John Hutchens; and her siblings, Frances Moser, Margaret Dixon, Nell Salmons, Evelyn Loggins, Wilma Allgood and John Loyd Hutchens. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

“Barbara was a very sweet & special friend to me. I have known her for over 20 years. I met her at Freeman Street Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. When she was no longer able to drive, I picked her up & took her to church. She had a beautiful voice and we all loved to hear her sing. When she moved to assisted living I visited her & to all of the nursing facilities also. I thank God that even though her memory faded she could remember the words to sing her songs. She was truly a blessing!”
