She was predeceased by: her father R. Frank Leggett; her husband Buford Pearce; and her brother Franklin Leggett, Jr.. She is survived by: her mother Inez Shaw Leggett; her daughter Sandra; her son-in-law Bart Williams of Wrightsville Beach; her children, Sam McKenzie of Wilmington and Beverly; her son-in-law Joel Shearon of Florence; her daughter Susan; her son-in-law Bruce Bradshaw of Splendora, Texas.; and her grandchildren, Sarah Dalton (Conner), Betsy Weidemann (Jesse), Barton Williams, Jr., Joy Eure (John), Keith Shearon, Bruce Bradshaw (Nikki) and Catherine Taylor (Jeremy). She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church (601 Causeway Dr, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480). A reception was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fellowship Hall.
