She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Brown and Janice Brown. She is survived by: her husband Bill; her sons, Carson Rudisill Hobbs (Ryan) and William 'Garrison Rudisill, Jr. (Sami); her grandchildren, Jake Edward Capps, Lucy Whitaker Hobbs, Virginia Mae Hobbs, William Fisher Hobbs, William Garrison Rudisill III (Liam) and Caleb Thomas Rudisill; and her sisters, Laura Brown Braswell (Ken), Pam Brown Vinson and Amy Brown North (Clint). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cape Fear Literary Council.
