She was predeceased by: her parents, James Henry Joyner and Mary Rebecca Miles Joyner; and her siblings, Frances Joyner Gunnells and Donald Lee Joyner. She is survived by: her husband William Burkett; her daughter Hope Burkett of Manteo; her siblings, Shirley Joyner of Ahoskie, Brenda Joyner White (Russell) of Seaboard, Sidney Joyner of Woodland and Moochie Joyner (Nancy) of Ahoskie; and her sisters-in-law, Debbie Coleson (Jerry) of Greenville, Betty Burkett of Lititz, PA and Jeanette Burkett of Havelock. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
