Norma Jean touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Kenneth Rush Pitts; her parents, Leonard Lee and Inez Goff; and her siblings, Jake Kilgore, Leonard Luther Goff, Laura Hathcock, Mary Carroll, Bonnie Herring, Mae Roy, Elizabeth White and Edna Clark.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Smawley, Mary Heblon of Winterville and Kenneth Pitts (Beverely) of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren, Rush (Sissy), Ryan (Patti), Holly (James), Jason (Becky), Abby, Caitlin, Elisabeth and Camryn; and her great grandchildren, Aidan, Natalie, Gabriel, Haleigh, Noah, Logan, Mara, Wren and Maddox.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to UAB Medical West Hospital and the Baptist Church at McAdory.
