She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Waters and Thena Waters; her former husband Edsel Reginald Garris; her son Thomas Garris; her siblings, Clara Garris, Betty McLawhorn and Waters, Jr.; and her stepdaughter Sheila Martin.
She is survived by: her husband Kenneth McLawhorn; and her stepsons, Kenneth McLawhorn, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA and Robert McLawhorn of Greenville. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
