It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Zerelda Lee Hancock Tierney of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on July 2, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hancock, Sr. and Naomi Beck Hancock. She is survived by: her children, Jeffrey Tierney (Cynthia), Kenneth Tierney (Angel), Cary Tierney and Joshua Tierney (Annette); her husband Gene Edward Tierney, Jr.; her son Forrest Foster (Dawn); her brother John Hancock, Jr.; her sister-in-law Connie Hancock Boyle; her sister Hilda Hancock Jester; and her brother-in-law Don Jester. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
