It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Walter Vernon Murray of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on June 20, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Craig Vernon and Hazel Barnes Murray; his siblings, Hazel Evelyn Murray and Craig Vernon Murray, Jr.; his children, Charlie (Susan), David (Kathy) and Beth; his wife Martha Ann; and his grandchildren, Rebecca, Sam, David, Stephen and Parker. He was also cherished by his children and grandchildren, probably more so with the grandkids.
In lieu of flowers, Walt requested that donations be made to Hargrave Military Academy, 200 Military Drive, Chatham VA 24531, a place that meant so much to him.
