He is survived by: his nephew Doctor Jefferson Underwood; his wife Jacqueline McCummings Black; his children, Walter Black, III (Tanja) of Winston-Salem and Doctor Jacquese O. Black (Sophia) of Winston-Salem; his niece LeVerne Brown of Winston-Salem; his nephew Doctor Perrin Underwood of Montgomery, Alabama; his grandchildren, Olen Black (Magan) of Kernersville, Perrin Black, II (Michaela) of Nashville, Jai Black of Charlotte and Amira Vaughn (Caleb) of Louisville, Kentucky; and his great grandchild Alaine Black. He is also survived by in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
