With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia St. John Shumate (Winston Salem, North Carolina), who passed away on June 13, 2023 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her siblings, Silvia McKnight, Grace Matthews, Charlotte Kerns, Darlene Boyer, Ila Lewis, Robert, Thomas and Noah St. John.
She is survived by: her siblings, Mae Summers and Ernest St. John; her husband Frank Shumate; her daughter Tammy Shumate; her grandson Andrew Rock (Jessica); and her great grandchild Maylee Ann Rock.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Virginia's honor to Gospel Light Baptist Church, 890 Walkertown Guthrie Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
