With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vernon Lewis Basham of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on April 2, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Lenzie Basham and Glady Clark Basham; his wife Virginia Adine Brooks Basham; and his siblings, Kenneth, David Basham, Linda Mae Basham, Shelby Keaton and Alice Meadows.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Basham, Becky Cleveland (Michael) and Mandy Pennell (Kevin); his sister Mary Grose; his siblings-in-law, Virginia Basham, Linda Burton and Carl Meadows; his grandchildren, Mikayla Cleveland (Zac Waldrep) and Alyssa Woodruff; his stepgrandchildren, Hunter Pennell, Dillon Pennell (Sara) and Kassidy Pennell; and his great grandchildren, Tiffany, Andrew and Atticus Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Buz's name to Unity Baptist Church.
