She was predeceased by: her parents, Daisy Bell Truesdale and William Motley; and her brother Rudolph Sturdivant. She is survived by: her daughters, Sharon Forrest Thomas (Dorez), Karen Forrest, Sonya Thomas (Patrick) and Melinee Forrest; her siblings, Beverly Staley, Lela Claggett (David Claggett) and Eugene Wade; and her grandchildren, Takia McGee (Jaquan), Jamil Thomas (Cady), Jewaun Thomas, Bryant Forrest, Billy McKeever, III, Christopher Thomas, Patrick Thomas, Kelsie Thomas, Ricky Forrest, Tracie Forrest and Jalen Forrest. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel (822 Carl Russell Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
