He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry K. Tincher and Virginia Lee Buckland Tincher of Rainelle, WV.; and his sister Mary Whittington. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Ann Shuford Tincher; his children, Thomas H. Tincher (Maureen) of Winston-Salem, Anne Hartman of Winston-Salem, Kathy Hepler (Bruce) of Clemmons and Barbara Bourdon (Gary) of Lexington; his siblings, Edward Tincher (Kay), John Tincher, Anna Lee Flint and Sue Dupor (Stevan) of Rural Hall; his grandchildren, Heidi Hartman (Krista), Ben Hartman (Ashley), Matthew Hartman, Holly Hepler, Brandon Hepler, Carrie Hauser (Cody), Jack Tincher and Chase Tincher; and his great grandchildren, Levi and Henry Hartman.
