He was predeceased by: his parents, Peggy Nelson and James Marshall Reid; and his brother Richard Dale Reid. He is survived by: his wife Marilynn Trent Reid; his stepson Heath Cheek (Mandy); his grandchildren, Jake and Katie; his nephew James Reid; and his niece Erica Reid.
