It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Messick Gilley (Winston Salem, North Carolina), who passed away on June 20, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Messick and Juanita Messick; her husband Jim; her brother Dale; and her niece Amy Messick Paynter.
She is survived by: her children, Michael (Donna), Elizabeth Gilley and Nita Gilley Dry (Todd); her grandchildren, Caroline Chrest (John), Brandon, Chandler Dry, Gray and Mackenzie Gilley; her brothers, Ralph, Larry and Bill Messick; her sisters-in-law, Pat, Diane, Norma Messick and Linda Gilley; and her caregiver Robin Roels.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Baptist Church.
