She was predeceased by: her parents, Braxton Clayborn Hairston, Jr. and Rebecca Hairston; her brother Charles Hairston; and her in-laws, Phyllis Sullivan Linville, Jackie Smith Sullivan and Alvonzo Cason.
She is survived by: her husband John W. Sullivan; her daughters, Shandra Sullivan of Suwanee, GA and Sherri Sullivan of Charlotte; her grandson Jaye Stackhouse of Atlanta, GA.; her siblings, Harold Hairston, Braxton Hairston, III, Linda of Winston-Salem and Brenda Hairston of Winston-Salem; her siblings-in-law, James Sullivan, Dexter Sullivan, Kenneth Sullivan (Cynthia), Angelyn Hairston, Bernese Sullivan-Cason, Peggy Sullivan (Dexter) and Bernadette Hairston; and her aunts, Laura T. Kennedy of Winston-Salem, Eleanor Organ (John) of Colesville, Maryland, Carolyn Jones, Esther Jones Haggler and Seresa Smith. She is also survived by loving cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Russell Funeral Home (822 Carl Russell Ave, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (950 File St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at the Parklawn Memorial Gardens (2730 Peters Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27127).
