It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Fennell (Winston Salem, North Carolina), who passed away on December 23, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. George James McCall and Pearl Baynes McCall Clinard; her husband George Fennell, Jr.; her siblings, James G. McCall (Irene), Pearline B. McCall, Maxine M. Newell, Nelsie M Wright (Frank) and Spencer McCall (Sandra D.); and her siblings-in-law, Willie Mae Fennell Hale and Charlie Brown.
She is survived by: her siblings-in-law, Ralph Newell, Sr. and Ethel Brown; her stepsister Theola East; her grandchildren, Brittany, Robert, Jr., Carlissa, Breanna, Stephany, Denard, Marina and Brookelynn Fennell; her great grandchildren, Brielle, Kayla and Noah Fennell; her cousin Dr. Nelson McCall (Nancy); and her close friends, Stephany Ledbetter, Lois Young and Minister Clara Goode. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
