Shirley Ann Smith Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Ann Smith of Winston Salem, North Carolina, born in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, who passed away on March 18, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Redmon and Beulah Parks Redmon; her husband Carl Smith; and her siblings, Bobby Parks, Carlvester Parks, Tommy Parks and Louellen Cockeran.
She is survived by: her son Gregory Smith (Darlene); her stepson Richard Penn (Jennifer); her daughter Carla Parreott (Dorian); her siblings, Cathy Parks and James Redmon; her grandchildren, Patra, Shannon, Cherressa, Ricky and Jiyai; her great grandchildren, Angela, Mikaela, My'esha, Toriq and Zariq; her great great grandchildren, Kaeomi and Londyn; and her goddaughter Bridget. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church (450 Metropolitan Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made in memory of Shirley to the Jerry Long YMCA.
