With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shelby Jean Steelman of Winston Salem, North Carolina, born in Bristol, Virginia, who passed away on February 26, 2024 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Ray and Bonnie Lou Perry; her siblings, D. E. Perry, James Perry, Carolyn F. Barker and Lillian Kay Perry Faust; and her stepbrother Tony Smithson.
She is survived by: her husband J. W. "Jay" Steelman; her sons, Kenny Steelman of Winston-Salem and Tim Steelman (Carrie) of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Morgan Steelman, Taylor Steelman, Jacey Steelman and Brady Steelman; her great grandchildren, River Ray and Drake; her stepbrothers, Allen Smithson, Dan Smithson and Michael Smithson; and her pet Teko.
