She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Hughes and Jennie Ann Frye Hughes; and her husband Elmer "Darlin" McDowell. She is survived by: her daughters, Ruth Ann Daughtry (Wade) and Renee Wilkins (Keith); her grandchildren, Jacob Daughtry (Jennifer), Courtney Lennen (Chad) and Travis Wilkins; and her great grandchildren, Parker Lennen, Reece Lennen and Eleanor Daughtry. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 28th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Woodland Baptist Church (1175 Bethania-Rural Hall Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
