He is survived by: his former wife Barbara Butler; his daughters, Mary Ann Lennon (J. Matthew) of Andover, MA and Elizabeth Jean Rickert (Clemmons) of Winston-Salem; his grandchildren, Duncan, Alex and Molly Lennon; his daughters, Mary Byrd Pettenati (Ewell) and Annie Ewell; his brother Thomas E. Rickert of San Francisco, CA; his wife Evelyn Moore Horton; and his stepdaughter Rosalie Horton.
