He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Benfield and Catherine Benfield; and his wife Tami. He is survived by: his children, Shannon Dowell (Alisa) of Kernersville, Ali Benfield of Yadkinville and Michael Benfield; his grandchildren, Sean Lucas (Jasmine), Skyler Lucas, Sydney Lucas, Emma Norman, Abby Norman and Pearce Norman; his sisters, Donna Simmons, Ginger Bunker and Robin Benfield; and his niece Tonya Vaughn.
