It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Lee Swing Sr. of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on January 31, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Charlie Baxter; and his brother Charlie Baxter Swing, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Frances Swing; his sons, Richard Lee Swing, Jr. (Christy) of Asheville and Kevin Swing (Melissa Kimberly) of Gainesville, GA; his grandchildren, Nick, Lily, Lexi, Emery Kate, Connor, Cason, Fallon and Sullivan; his brother-in-law Robert R. Dalton; his nieces, Diane Dalton (Amy Giles), Denise Dalton and Shirley Yountz; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jenny Myers (Jason), Bobby Yountz (Devan) and Robbi Easton (Eddie); and also, Emma, Sadie, Max, Addison, Dalton Easton (Kylie), Sam Easton, Harrison Easton, Jack Easton, Georgia Easton and Beau.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the general fund at Calvary Moravian Church, 600 Holly Ave NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.

“So sorry to hear about Richard. He lived down the street from my late husband, Jim Bradley, and they went to school together for 12 years. Richard & Frances always attended our 1956 MSHS class get-togethers. He was always so kind and soft spoken. He and my brother, George Meeks, car pooled together when they both worked together in Greensboro. Our hearts go out to the family knowing you have lost a true gentleman, husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend.”
