He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Spivey Nifong; and his son Kenneth Ray Nifong. He is survived by: his daughter Sandy King; his granddaughters, Jennifer Smith and Miranda Nifong; his great grandchildren, Chesney Smith, Jake Smith, Tyler Smith, Allaura Barr and Mariah Barr; his siblings, Charles Eugene Nifong, Mary Frye and Geneva Chitty; and his stepson Joe Floyd.
