She was predeceased by: her parents, Thelma Mae Tuttle Banks and Melvin Pate Page, Sr.; her husband Henry Lee Thomas; her siblings, Ruby Jean Tuttle, Katie Frances DeLapp and Palmer Page; her stepdaughter Sonya Sanders-Neal; and her friend Wilhemina Douglas.
She is survived by: her daughters, Evangelist Antoine Johnson (Elder Stanley) of Thomasville, NC and ShaDonna Thomas of Winston-Salem, NC; her stepchildren, Van Leonard (Joyce Hargrave) of Winston-Salem, NC and Pascha Leonard of Winston-Salem, NC; her brothers, Melvin Pate Page, Jr. of Midway, NC and Lonnie Ray Page of Midway, NC; her grandchildren, O'Mauria Thomas, Cardarris Thomas (Antoinette), Jaquanna Thomas Felder (Troy), Craig Hogan, Janiah Craig, Monterrius Thomas, Takira Sanders, A'Jayla Leonard, Ezekiel Boyd, Amiya Cody and Marquis Cody; her aunts, Evangelist Christine Talbert and Corina DeLapp (Forcie); her siblings-in-law, Bernice Tuttle, Donnice Lindsay (Clifton), Linda Carol Smith and Anthony Roberts; and her friends, Patricia Ann Young, Jackie Marsh and Pearl Hayes. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Beyond her contributions to the church, Rachel will be fondly remembered for her love of sharing small joys with her neighbors: from ice-cold Pepsis on summer days to giving out popsicles, strawberry pies, and her signature mac-n-cheese.
