He is survived by: his wife Maria Tsiokannas; his children, Thomas (Frances) of Cary, Arthur (Kimberly) of Advance and Athia Nolan (Christopher) of Winston-Salem; his grandchildren, Nicholas Mathes, Christopher Mathes, Catherine Mathes, Michael Mathes, William Nolan and John Nolan; his sister Rita Georgoulias (Mike) of Winston-Salem; and his nephews, George Mathes, Chris Georgoulias (Sharon) and Tommy Georgoulias (Bethany).
