As we bid adieu to Mona Holbrook's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Mona Holbrook has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William McKinley Holbrook and Alma Bauguess Holbrook; her husband William Lee Pennington Cofer; and her son Kelton Gray Cofer. She is survived by: her son Kursten Lee Cofer (Heather); her granddaughter Regan of Chocowinity, NC; her siblings, Shelby Carroll (Johnny) of Boone, NC and Terry Holbrook (Becky) of Lewisville; and her nephew Darren Church of Conway, SC. She is also survived by caregivers, other relatives and countless friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Salem Funeral and Cremation Services - Downtown (120 S Main St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to any charity that aids wounded veterans, which is a cause she championed.
