She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Reid and Mearlene Cecil Reid; her husband Kenneth Gray Scott; and her brothers, Joe Reid and Larry Reid.
She is survived by: her children, Charles Keith Scott (Beverly) of Southmont, Angela Dawn Scott of Winston-Salem and Kimberley Ann Banks (Chip) of Kernersville; her grandsons, Zachary Taylor Scott (Parul) of Cornelius and Henry Gray Banks of Kernersville; her sister Pat Watson (Herb) of Winston-Salem; and her sister-in-law Mary Ann Scott (Farrell) of Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to donate in Merle's name to one of the previously named organizations or the American Cancer Society.
