We are sad to announce that on November 20, 2020, at the age of 85, Mary Newsome in Winston Salem, North Carolina, born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Mary Barrow Burgwyn of Virginia and George Pollock Burgwyn; her husband Ray Newsome; her sons, Bert (Lynn) and Wynn; her grandchild Trey Newsome (Jennifer); her great grandchildren, Katherine and Albert IV; her daughter Mary Cabell Newsome Hunt (Rob); her grandchildren, Mary Rives and Émilie Newsome; her great grandchild Wynn (Jody); and also, Delaney, Jordan Lewynn Newsome Wetteroff (Travis), Bailey Newsome and Hannah Newsome. She was also cherished by many aunts, uncles, cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the William Ray Newsome Fund, Novant Health Foundation, 1701 S. Hawthorne Road, 27103, in honor of her late grandson Will.
