He was predeceased by: his father Paul H. Johnson; his son Charles H. Johnson; his mother Iris Kiser Johnson; and his sister Mary Sutter. He is survived by: his wife Betsy J. Dunlap; his son Timothy H. Johnson (Debra); his grandsons, Benjamin L. Johnson and Samuel Johnson (Brooke); his great grandchildren, Bramley and Braylen Johnson; and his siblings, Imogene Taylor, Sharon Harrison, Cynthia Johnson and Paul H. Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marlon may be made to Clemmons First Baptist Church, or Winston-Salem Rescue Mission or Cancer Services of Winston-Salem.
