She was predeceased by: her parent Mary Woods; her daughter Mary Jo Durbin; her son-in-law Reverend Charles H. Smith, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Dameon D. Smith and Nai'Ari Lattimore.
She is survived by: her children, Frederick "Red" Crosby, Marie Bethea (Hiawatha) and Barbara C. Smith; and her grandchildren, Sonya Switzer, Tuajuana Durbin, Anthony Johnson-Bethea, Kesha, Kamal Crumblin, Charles Smith, III (Amesha), Jade, Cherese Blue (Elias) and Stephanie Miles (Chris). She is also survived by 29 great grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church (5000 Noble St, Winston-Salem, NC 27105). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
