Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Lucy Bell Higgins (Winston Salem, North Carolina), who passed away at the age of 92, on February 16, 2025. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Hege and Nora Mize Hege; her husband William Douglas Higgins; her siblings, Frances Sturdivant, Nancy Leonard and Junior Hege; and her brothers-in-law, Bob Leonard, Gary Freeman and Ronald Sturdivant.
She is survived by: her children, Edward Higgins of Winston-Salem, Sandra Miller (Jack) of Carolina Shores and Angie Higgins of Rural Hall; her sister Janet Freeman of Reedy Creek; her grandchildren, Crystal Miller (Walter Collins), Tim Miller, Stephen Higgins (Ashley), Seth Higgins (Jessica), Samuel Higgins (Sydney) and Dylan Higgins (Brian Sawyers); and her great grandchildren, Maizie Belle, Easton Douglas and Marilyn Rose. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Jc Green & Sons Funeral Home (10301 NC-109, Winston-Salem, NC 27107).
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission, Samaritan's Purse, or Meals on Wheels.
