He was predeceased by: his father Hershey Ray; and his son Tyler Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Dru Venable Whitley; his son Garrett Phillips (Audrey); his daughter-in-law Brittany Phillips-Nalley (Tim); his grandchildren, Sawyer Truman Phillips and Charlotte "Charley" Mae Phillips; his brothers, David Whitley (Pennie) and Brad Whitley; and his nieces and nephews, Brooke Rosenberg (Michael), Christy Whitley (Seth), Chloe Whitley, Carson Whitley and Trent Harmon-Marshall (Brantley).

The family requests casual dress and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Lloyd to the donor's charity of choice.
