She is survived by: her children, Ann Macon Umstead Bridges (Grant), Leigh Talbert Umstead Cortesis (Dino), Charles Parker Umstead, Jr. (Caroline) and Sarah Turner Umstead Merriman (David); her grandchildren, Kate Umstead Ellender, Taylor Edward Jackson (Erin), Patricia Ann Jackson (Jeff Rowell), Charles Parker Umstead III, Elizabeth Calloway Umstead, Christopher Turner Umstead, Caroline Carrington Umstead, Sarah Parker Umstead Merriman, David Morrison Merriman, Jr. and Philip Macon Merriman; and her caregivers, Marty Dozier, Regina Hicks and Alyson Young.
A memorial service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Reynolda Church (2200 Reynolda Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106).
