He was predeceased by: his father James Gaither, Sr.; and his brother James Gaither, Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Magdelene Gaither; his siblings, Karl Gaither of Winston-Salem, Dorothy Mitchell (Jesse) of Charlotte, NC, Shirley Gaither of Winston-Salem, NC and Queen Gaither of Winston-Salem, NC; and his close friends, Terry Neely and Robert Mitchell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
