He was predeceased by: his parents, James Byrd and Anna Byrd; and his granddaughter Kensley Hope Byrd. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Byrd of Winston Salem; his children, Andrew Byrd (Melissa) of Lexington and Emily Byrd (Matthew Anderson) of Winston Salem; his brother Reggie Byrd (Tammy) of Cedar Falls, Iowa; his grandsons, Braxton and Maddox Byrd; and his aunts, Betty McBane and Anne Hope. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
