She is survived by: her daughter Katherine Elder Sobie; her son-in-law David Austin Sobie of Winston-Salem, NC; her son Kenneth James Elder; her daughter-in-law Lourdes Maria Elder of Greensboro, NC; her grandchildren, Clara Jane Sobie of Winston-Salem, NC and Nicholas Anthony Cook; her granddaughter-in-law Margaret Conner Cook of Durham, NC; her grandchildren, James Lucas Elder of Raleigh, NC and Isabella Maria Elder of Greensboro, NC; her great grandchild Colin Michael Cook of Durham, NC; her sister Martha Hughes Mayse; and her brother-in-law John Druary Mayse of Clemmons, NC..

In the early 1990s, pursuant to her father's will, she provided a donation to the church for the installation of a carillon. When she returned to Elon, she made another donation to upgrade the carillon to a digital system.
