It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Samuel Thompkins Sr. of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on July 30, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Ellie Thompkins; and his siblings, Marcius Thompkins, Margaret Thompkins Brown, Doris O. Thompkins and Betty J. Thompkins Snow.
He is survived by: his wife Minister Katie Thompkins; and his children, Adrienne "Rita" T. Bailey, Joseph S. Thompkins Jr. (Monica), Bryant Thompkins (Crystal) of Richmond and Tameka Thompkins. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
