With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Bruton Stewart of Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on January 30, 2023 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Albert Stewart, Sr.; his wife Rev. Patricia Fredriksen Stewart; his siblings, Albert Stewart, Jr. (Mary) and Mary Warner (Charles); and his son-in-law John Heath.
He is survived by: his children, Lyn Stewart Heath, Kristin Stewart Stubbs (Brian), Rev. John B. Stewart, Jr. (Suecia) and Michael F. Stewart (John Perrone); his grandchildren, Jennifer Edmondson (Nate), Cate Stewart (Aaron), Tyler Rice (Nicole Lanzone), Connor Rice, Ashley Rice and John B. Stewart III; and his great grandchildren, Cole Edmondson, Karen Edmondson and Kendall Edmondson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Presbyterian Church, 2380 Cloverdale Ave NW, Winston-Salem, NC 27103; Salemtowne Retirement Community, 190 Moravian Way., Winston-Salem, NC 27106; or to any charity of the donor's choice.
