He is survived by: his wife Grace Danhoff McKinnon; his children, Alex McKinnon (Deirdre) of Charlotte, Margaret Gardner (David) of Washington, DC and Grace Andringa (Mark) of Chapel Hill; his grandchildren, Katherine, Gabriel, Zachary Gardner, Peter, Tyler and Emily Andringa; and his sister-in-law Oriana McKinnon.
