It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jo Ellen Cheek in Winston Salem, North Carolina, who passed away on March 20, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Toney Cheek. She is survived by: her children, Karen Carver (Charles) of Winston Salem, NC, Keith Kountz (Rose) of Winston Salem, NC and Rita Gunnoe (Bobby); her stepchildren, Kathy, John Hymes, Jack and Anita Cheek; and her sister Ruth Tolbert.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Hope Baptist Church or Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.
