He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Morgan Smith and Alma Grace Petty Smith; his son Jerry Leon Smith Jr.; his brother-in-law Delma Hicks; and his granddaughter Cherie Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Elizabeth Pfaff Smith; his children, Lloyd Martin Smith, Stephen Pfaff Smith and Deidre Christine Smith Jarvis (Clayton); and his sister Joann Hicks. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Silas Creek Chapel - Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes & Crematory (3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27103). A graveside service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mausoleum Chapel (6135 Ridgecrest Point, Winston-Salem, NC 27103).
