She was predeceased by: her parents, Wadus Franklin Denton and Kathleen Hanes Denton; and her brother Frank Denton. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Layne Bias (Nick) of Lexington, Michael Norman (Paige Stewart) of Winston Salem and Rhett Norman of Lexington; her siblings, Bobby Denton (Brenda) of Alabama and Jean Simmons of South Carolina; her sister-in-law Gayle Denton of Winston Salem; her aunts, Jeanette Peace (Franklin) of Kernersville and Janet Dunaway of South Carolina; and her pet Dixie. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
